Banyan Air Service (KXE)
Whether a fuel stop enroute to Key West, or a flight to south east Florida, Ft. Lauderdale Executive is a great airport to visit.
Typically using runway 8, the approach is from the open swamps to the west, which is actually quite beautiful.
Banyan Air Service is an excellent FBO, every time you arrive, you are marshalled in, and get the red carpet treatment. It's a very nice touch, you simply have to feel good jumping down on to a red carpet !
Inside the FBO is a lounge with big screen television, it's easy to forget the time relaxing in there, espically given the coffee supplied outside, with a choice of creamers.
There's also a 'snooze room', with two leather reclining seats. These seats are the best thing ever !
The FBO also offers two computers with internet access.
The pilot briefing room has everything you need, weather data and telephones to file a flight plan.
There's courtesy vans and the Banyan pilot store is a few blocks away, it's an exciting place to shop with a large selection of products.
In the neighborhood are plenty of places to eat, including Fannigan's. It's easy to arrive, drive and eat, and be back to the FBO within an hour.
