For the most part, hotel food is not cheap. Around hotels are usually other places to eat, and what better way to find them than to explore (when safe).

Room service can be really expensive - sometimes it's just nice to get food delivered to your room, perhaps you're staying in the hotel for a special event and splashing out a little on a meal is worth it. Room service rates vary, however most will add on both gratituity and a delivery fee - take care when you sign for the meal, don't be fooled by the empty tip box, the tip in this case is already included!

Water in rooms can be expensive too - is there a drinks vending machine on your floor?
