Hotels are providing good tips for your security, these include;

  • Safeguard your room key (if it is lost or stolen report it to front desk)

  • Deadbolt (or use locks and chains) your room after entering.
    Also lock connecting doors, windows, and sliding glass doors.
    Check doors are locked when leaving room.

  • Report suspicious activity to management.

  • Do not discuss plans for leaving hotel in front of strangers.

  • Do not let anyone into your room without positive identification.
    Use the door viewer if installed.
    Do not accept unsolicited deliveries.
    Check with front desk if a visitor claims to be an employee.

  • Use safety deposit boxes for your cash and valuables
    (usually at the front desk).

  • Familarize yourself with the nearest fire exit stairway and exits.
    Report fire or smoke to the hotel operator.

  • Use the main entrance if returning to your hotel late in the evening.

  • Try not to display your room keys in public where they could be stolen.

  • Do not leave luggage unattending when checking in or out.

  • Do not leave valuables in parked vehicles.

    In an evacuation;

    Avoid use of the elevator.
    Move quickly but calmy.
