People may not appreciate the amount of time airline crews spend away from home.

Several years ago I was picking someone up from the airport, a female pilot was there waiting in uniform with her son. A short time later through security walks her husband also a pilot in uniform. They played with the son for a few minutes, had a hug, and then the woman went through security to work.
