Back in the 50's |
| |
Back in the '50's, USAF Primary Pilot Training was conducted at several small civilian contract bases. One such base was Graham AB. Each day, two morning shifts and two afternoon shifts were launched, and the practice areas were filled with T-34's and T-28's flying training missions.
Each day, during one of the practice periods, a call went out on the common frequency, "Graham Tower, Graham Tower. This is Graham Cracker. Eat me."
Needless to say, the tower's requests for the caller to identify himself went unanswered.
This had gone on for several days and, near the end of the last practice period of the day, the call was heard again, "Graham Tower, Graham Tower. This is Graham Cracker. Eat me.", to which the tower replied, "Graham Cracker, this is Graham Tower. Consider yourself eaten. You are the only solo aircraft airborne." |
