Airhogs Reflex Helicopter
The Reflex radio controlled helicopter is made by Airhogs.
The helicopter is nicely packaged and comes with the charger, controller (and battery), as well as instructions and a spare set of rotors.
The helicopter is made of crash resistant foam, and feels sturdy.
The helicopter moves in six directions, so it is controllable going up / down, left / right, and forward and back. This makes the Reflex extremely manueverable.
The controller is a neat size, it operates with a 9 volt battery, which is included. The throttle lever is spring loaded, so if you let go of it, the helicopter will descend at a speed unlikely to cause any damage to the helicopter.
The helicopter is charged using the plug-in charger, and doesn't take long before you are ready to fly.
Flying it for the first time, it's noticable how smooth and stable the helicopter is, only small trim changes are needed to make this an incrediblly controlled helicopter to fly.
The trim for the helicopter is above the rotors, a simple turn is all that's needed to 'trim' the helicopter i.e. if the helicopter always turns left, a right turn of the trim wheel will remove this tendency making the helicopter fly straight, unless you direct it to turn.
The Reflex has a 'prop engine' which allows positive directional control with turns, and when both are operated forward and back flight. You can hear and see them rev up, it's a lot of fun !
The instructions are easy to understand, and include directions on trimming, flying and repairing if necessary.
