United Airlines Boeing 777-200
The dvd starts out with an introduction from the Captain, leading into him speaking with the flight attendants about the flight.
The Captain then briefs the other pilots. During the brief the Captain includes us (the viewer) as if we were there also, and as he discusses the route he also takes time to elaborate on details for our benefit.
After the brief we follow a pilot on the walk around, he points out what he's looking for and we get an up close idea of the shear size of the Boeing 777-200.
The flight attendant then explains the inflight entertainment system, and how she loads and uses the device to show movies during the flight.
After this we join the Captain in the flightdeck, he shows the process to automatically load the route into the flight management computer. It's unbelievable how advanced the airplane is, using touch screen computers to request the atc clearance etc.
Once the crew have had a discussion on emergency procedures, they run through checklists, and perform the engine start.
You can watch as they complete each stage, pushing from the gate and taxying.
The height of the flightdeck is evident during the taxy.
The takeoff and initial climb is video taped from the flightdeck, the camera pans around showing the view from the flightdeck.
The Captain flies this leg, and we get to see him and the crew at work.
The Captain takes a lot of time to explain the systems, working his way through the overhead panel, and the rest of the systems.
