The Vought F4U Corsair and its Contemporaries

This is a great book for the aviation buff who has already read everything you can find about the F4U on wikipedia.
Written by our friend Tom Brinkman, this book takes a close look at the F4U Corsair from an aeronautical engineers point of view and compares it with the P51 Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt, F6F Hellcat, and P-38 Lightining.

Some of you may have been involved in heated discussions before (possibly even involving a brew or two) on which was the better plane. Well, this book shows how the engineers saw it.

Here at the "aviator website" we are strongly leaning towards the Corsair, even with all the flaws she "may have" had in the beginning. This is why this book has a place in our private collection as well.
