We have made numerous patches for this squadron over the years once they started flying F-35’s.

But back in the 70’s and 80’s the Grim Reapers flew F-14’s with the first fighter getting accepted by the VF-101 in 1976. This particular F-14B BuNo 162923 became the C/O’s aircraft when it joined the squadron. He had the aircraft painted with bright red markings and other crews named it "Tomato". It flew in many air shows to display the aircraft capabilities.
