RAYGUN 503 Recovery
In April 1985, the A-6E Intruder "Raygun 503" while operating from USS Nimitz (CVN-68) crashed on a remote jungle mountainside near Santiago, Panama and was never found...
..until May of 2019 when two expat researchers in Panama hired a local villager to photograph aircraft parts he had seen while hunting. They had stumbled upon the remains of the missing A6.
Hampered by many obstacles, including the pandemic, and building a helipad in the middle of the jungle, the helicopter operator "Air Center Helicopters" was finally able to recover the wreckage and bring our heroes home at the end of last year.
