Equipped with the mighty Wright R-2600-8 1700 HP radial engine, the TBF/M "Avenger" was the biggest single engine aircraft during WWII. She started out as a torpedo bomber but also took the duties of close-support bomber, patrol aircraft, and even trainer. After the war, the Avenger was also used as crop duster and forest fire water bomber.
