The Marine Fighter Attack Squadron VMFA-541 "Checkerboards" commissioned this one for their participation in Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) course 1-26. 
The "WTI 1-26" designation refers to the specific WTI course that took place in October 2025.

The "Checkerboards" currently fly McDonnell Douglas F/A-18C and are scheduled to switch to the F-35B in 2028.
